CLAUDIA BRUEMMER

Claudia is a writer-editor based in Ventura, California. She has specialized in writing and editing Internet marketing articles, whitepapers, press releases and web pages using seo copywriting techniques since 1998.

Educated in Los Angeles, California, Claudia was born in Rome, Italy, arriving in the U.S. at the age of four. She went to Estrella Avenue School, Budlong Avenue School and 74^th Street School in Los Angeles. After graduating from Washington High School, she went to business college and became an executive secretary. Claudia started taking night courses at UCLA while working as an admin and eventually graduated from Cal State Long Beach with a BA in Psychology in 1978 and an MA in Psychology in 1981.

Claudia has a wide range of writing skills – she spent years as a technical writer, editing engineering and software manuals. As a training specialist, she wrote training manuals for employee continuous improvement programs. Her psychology background led into marketing and advertising, where as a marketing specialist, she wrote corporate brochures, sales brochures, product descriptions, spec sheets, advertising copy and an in-house newsletter. In 1996, she got her first Internet writing job with WebSpecialist.com, an SEO startup founded by her son Paul Bruemmer. Since then, she has been writing exclusively for Internet companies.

One of Claudia’s early online writing jobs was as a copy editor for a starup called ClickZ. Within a year, she became the Managing Editor (1998-2001). From that point, she expanded into writing articles, whitepapers, press releases, powerpoint presentations, eblasts, transactional emails, email newsletters and SEO copywriting. Clients have included Web-Ignite, Trademark SEO, Bruce Clay, Inc., Top Ten Wholesale, Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO), Search Engine Watch, Findability, Affordable Search Marketing, Search Marketing Standard, WebVisible and more. Claudia’s by-lined articles have been published on iMedia Connection, Search Engine Guide and ISEDB. She is also a course author for SEMPO’s Search Engine Marketing Fundamentals online course.

Claudia has an interest in poetry and literature. She wrote poems about birds and nature in her youth. She loves reading historical novels by authors like Ken Follett (Pillars of the Earth and World Without End) and Leo Tolstoy (Anna Karenina and War and Peace).  Her current passion is writing innovative web copy using the right words to inform prospects and customers about her clients’ products and services. Meet Claudia Bruemmer

Claudia earned a B.A. and M.A. in Psychology from California State University, Long Beach. She also has a Lifetime Psychology Teaching Credential from the Board of Governors of the California Community Colleges. Even as a child, Claudia wanted to be a writer. She started writing a family chronicle about her Italian heritage at the age of 12, and she wrote poetry about birds and nature in grammar school. Her interest in writing developed throughout her school years and helped her achieve a 4.0 in grad school and score in the top percentile in writing and vocabulary on the CBEST (California Basic Educational Skills Test). 

Instead of going into teaching, Claudia chose the business world and started writing instructional manuals, business brochures and newsletters. In Los Angeles, CA, she worked for North American Aviation (Rockwell) for over 10 years and for Volvo Western in Torrance, Ca for 9 years. In Ventura, she was a Technical Writer for the Western Instrument Corporation and then a Training Specialist for International Computers and Telecommunications, Inc. Ultimately, she chose to write for Internet companies because she is fascinated by the power of  the Internet and its ability to provide information quickly on search engines. Claudia has been an Internet writer and editor since 1996. Her employment background is in writing, editing, training, marketing and advertising.
